'Birth of a Nation' concert for Riverbank

Paul Linehan.
A special concert in the Riverbank Arts Centre on 9 June will be set against the backdrop of Irish history up to the founding of the modern Irish State, featuring songs and music from the period.

The Birth of a Nation concert was last performed in Lexington, Kentucky as part of the Kildare Twinning anniversary there in October.

Written by Mario Corrigan, the musical is a sometimes whimsical but often tragic journey, guaranteed to move and entertain.

It will be performed by Paul Linehan, Tenor; Ann Cullen, Piano and Violin; and Liam Quinlivan, Narrator.

Songs include The West’s Asleep, The Minstrel Boy, Boolavogue, Danny Boy, A Nation Once Again, Óró ‘Sé do bheatha ‘bhaile, and The Foggy Dew.

Admission €10. Booking at riverbank.ie.
